this is an exciting and delicious beer this is here. nobody else is really making anything like this that i am aware of. seems like a malty pale ale base, but is spiked with apple juice sometimes during the fermentation (i think), and is super apple forward, but definitely much more of a beer than a cider, which is where i think this is successful. nothing interesting about the way it looks, but it smells awesome, definitely getting a lot of the fruit, tart a little bit and sweet a little too. the malt base is bigger and more toasty and sturdy than a basic pale ale, and i think the sweetness and body of the grain helps the fruit too, really well matched up. i definitely get more of like an applesauce flavor to this, less refined than bottles apple juice, which i really like. its rugged and boldly flavorful. not much hops happening, and nothing interesting on the yeast front, but the interplay between grain and fruit is a lot. surprised apple doesnt make its way into more beer, this is really good and definitely the most innovative beer these guys are making right now. this should so real well for them this summer!
