Birch's on the Lake Brewhouse & Supperclub

Brewed and bottled at Birch's Lowertown brewery, but purchased at Birch's Long Lake location. Consumed off-premises. I guess this is the third edition of sour beer by Birch's. A blend of 2 and 3 year traditional barrel soured red ales aged in red wine barrels. Equal parts sour and funky. I especially like the funk. A bit vinous, a little oak, and then sour stone fruit. Lively carbonation but I like that in light, sour beers. Birch's bottled sours along with the occasional Schell's Berliner Weiss are something to seek out while the rest of the Minnesota sour beer attempts have been downright dreadful.
