Appearance: Pours cloudy and pear nectar color with a two finger head; decent lacing action
Smell: Phenolic Belgian yeast aromatics bringing green herbs and white pepper; underneath there is plenty of grapefruit pith
Taste: The phenolic flavors dominate the front, bringing an herbaceous blend along with white pepper spice; through the middle, the pith adds some bitterness without bringing the citrus; the two elements blend into the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: As others have noted, this is an unusual beer; interesting to follow the different elements but they really don't work together very well
Thanks, Frogger 27, for the opportunity

Can, listed as a dry-hopped saison, though Belgian IPA is probably more fitting:
Ok, it is Aslin, but not everything has to look like my morning juice. Pale orange-yellow cloudpuff with a creamy head that looks like most of their IPAs. Not overly Saison-like, and I was hoping for something a little different with this one.
This beer has an interesting and weird ripe melon and pepper scent to it - not two scents I run into together too often. There’s a little barnyard funk of some sort that could be a dry grass/dank hop note in disguise (revisit a week later: it comes across as a little more cucmber-like). Definitely weird.
The beer is not too thick or heavy, and pretty dry, which seems contradicting compared to the look. There’s actually a little bite to the carbonation, though it’s not overpowering.
This almost comes across as a Brut IPA with the dryness, but the pepper grass notes are a little lean towards some classic dry saisons. Then there is a watery note - maybe cucumber but in some tastes I get a very unripe melon - though maybe it's a non-bitter citrus pith or the white middle-of the watermelon rind (my confusion might indicate its light nature).
Almost dry to a fault as I’m having trouble with any malt profile. A very weird beer that becomes tolerable, more or less, as it warms.
