A Dark Czech Lager with lovely roasted qualities, smooth caramel, and soft nuttiness. Hints of chocolate, hazelnut & a waffer-like flavor. This one is clean with light carb for a super smooth finish. If this beer were leggings and an oversized shirt we would wear it every. Damn. Day.

Interesting because you immediately feel the lightness you would expect of a lager with the roasted malt flavors you’d expect of a dark stout.

Received a can from a friend that i think obtained this at last summer's Aslin beer festival. No canning date; consumed 4-28-23.
Beer pours dark brown with a nice long lasting tan head.
Nose has hints of roasted malts and coffee.
Taste is really nice, a roasted malt base gives notes of coffee and chocolate. Finishes nicely hopped and balanced.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and both refreshing and smooth.
Overall a really tasty Czech Dark Lager.

Pours a dark black coffee color with ruby hues in the light. A two finger oatmeal head rises and settles to a thick ring, sticky residual lacing lingers. Nose is earthy hop, bitter coffee, and subtle chocolate. Taste follows suit with a sweet chocolate finish and a sharp feel. Overall, 3.5/5. Slightly above average.

Very dark mostly opaque brown with a huge khaki head and moderate lacing. Aromas of rustic dark bread, toast, burnt caramel, slight smoke, some roasted nuts, hints of wood root, and cocoa, light but sneaky complex. Taste is more focused on the dark malts, smoke, light nuts, and dark bread, almost pumpernickel now. Feel is streamlined around the dark malts, chewy and somewhat frothy but lighter bodied without being thin. Enjoy on a wet and mild spring night

Appearance - The beer poured black in color with a light tan head.
Smell - The nose was unusually sweet. Strangely, it brought to mind Pepsi.
Taste - The sweet molds in the front gave way too bitter char in the back. As the finish approached, the yeast stuck to the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel - Small bubbles helped to create a smooth creamy profile.
Overall - This is a style that does not get a lot of love, but I like it.

a: mixture of silky black and murky dark brown. 1/2 finger rocky light tan head
s: strong roasted malts, grassy hops, and a lot of oak. green peppers, and a little caramel. big lager spice. not overly-complex, but nice spicy aroma
t: nice depth of roasted malts along with a crisp lager spice. slight hint of chocolate and some caramel sweetness. some bitter charred wood and a touch of earthy hops
m: lighter side of medium, with moderate mouthfeel
o: a nice Dark Lager, though a touch sweeter than i like for the style. the roast and bitterness is nice though, and the aroma is pretty much spot on

16oz can. No dating found.
Dark brown colored body. Clear, and quite handsome. Pours with a thin finger of light beige head, which settles to a thin cap and center active center. Minor legs and spots of lacing on the glass.
Aroma is rich with roasted grains and nuts.
Taste is full with roasted, close to charred grain malts. Additions of hazelnut, with hints of chocolate and caramel. Not really bitter, but really shows the roast.
Thin to medium mouth feel. The flavors really coat the mouth. Very good carbonation.
Instead of a stout or a quad, this drinks well for the super cold weekend ahead. Somewhat like a well stoked fireplace.

Bought two from Tavour. A very good example of this rubric style.
Full Basic is a decent Looker, lucious foam sticking around is always appreciated. Smells are quite full even for a dark lager; I'm going to get a generous malt, well-roasted and some nuts. And Tastes prove this; a gently drying sensation at the finish. My mouth is full; I can't wait for the second one.
Aslin is curious. They have 460+ beers listed on BA in 5 and 1/2 years. I know of no crafter more prolific. And their website hawks their wares well enough, I suppose. But unlike most sites, I was not able to find out anything about the founders, owners, brewers. That is different and makes for a not-so-good micro-review. Work on the site and marketing. You've got enough good recipes that they can take care of themselves.
3/4/21 I enjoyed the second can, edited my review above and am keeping count over at Untappd.

Aggressive pour produces a high tan bubbly head on this dark brown hazed out brew. Scent is sweet malt up front with subtle chocolate and toasted notes in the back. More toasty and roasted malts with some chocolate on the flavor. Slightly bitter follow through balances this enough to get a 4 on taste. I believe this could use more carbonation but it’s a pretty decent brew here.
