Decent effort at a NEIPA from a young brewer who, at least, has a portion of their business in contract brewing.
Looks the average. Smells offer a floral that is slightly different than the standard tropical, citrus fruity. Tastes follow but are interrupted by this vanilla stuff that bugs me. Except for that, its fruity finishes balanced with just enough bitter.
I went on their website and Octopi in this suburb of Madison seems a bit concocted by the University's B-School. The idea of a contract brewer helping other young brewers has helped the industry multiply. Does Octopi do a better job than the average contractor. You be the judge.

Poured hazy with slight head into glass-can style glassware
Huge hints of vanilla upfront on the nose with vanilla overtaking the hop notes following with some slightly bitter after-taste on the first sip and the rest following the same.
Far too much vanilla/sweetness in this beer for me. If you like more sweet/fruity hazy IPA's then this is right up your alley.
Bitter beer lovers beware

Poured 12oz can into snifter. It is hazy deep yellow with a nice 2 finger off white head. It dissipates moderately and a ring lingers around the glass with lacing noticeable along the sides of the glass. Bitter and grapefruit hop notes with prominent notes vanilla along with a touch of sweet malt. It starts off with sweeter notes of lactose and vanilla and turns into the juicy citrus with grapefruit flavors followed by a touch of sweet caramel from the malts. Nice carbonation and a slightly resinous mouthfeel. Kind of sticky and dry afterwards. I'm not sure if this was supposed o have sweet or vanilla notes, but I noticed them.
