Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed glass'o'juice pour. Thick fluffy white head. Great lacing.
S: Straight up Citra hops. Grapefruit and tangerine.
T/F: Tends too far towards the citra for my taste. Strong grapefruit, orange rind, and tangerine. Lacking in tropicals. A bit of mango maybe at the finish. Sticky on the tongue... medium bodied.
O: One of the weaker in the 'V' series in my opinion, but that may be my bias against citra hops which lead the way with this brew. Still a solid beer but I've enjoyed other Hubbard's Cave beers WAY more than this one.

NEIIPA from Illinois. Cracking open the can leads to a bit of beer expulsion on the hands. Hands now smell delicious. Potent juicy hoppy nose, and the taste follows suit. Pineapple and mango are the dominant flavors before dank resin coats your tongue and just lingers there. Well executed brew here.

Fresh IIPA V8 (Fresh By 01.27.19) IPA - Imperial / Double 8.5% ABV.
16 oz. can poured into a Sam Adams glass. Hops: Citra and Simcoe.
This was an extremely well balanced brew. Looked good, smelled great, tasted even better. Fruity and a bit dank, taste is juicy citrus. Different in a good way from your usual IPA's.

Exceptional beer, which is saying something considering that I bear a deep childhood scar from V8 tomato juice. This is all the better considering I'm drinking a can that's less than a week old. It's an NEIPA by any other name. Creamy, juicy, slightly bitter on the finish.

Dated 6/27/18 on the front label of the can, 5 weeks since brewing. "Fresh by 8/28/18"
Pours an opaque pale orange-yellow in the glass with two fingers of creamy white head. Nose of huge tropical fruits. Notes of gooseberry, cantaloupe, ruby grapefruit, lychee, resin and a little wet earth. A great mix of juicy fruit and resin/earth. Taste is powerful, the different fruit are vibrant and supported by a robust pine resin. I also get a bit of blueberry, fresh mango and slight dankness at the end of each sip. The only real downside to this brew is it's body, it's medium, but has a bit of a watery quality and lacks the creaminess I was looking for. Great carbonation that spreads across your palette. Completely hidden 8.5% ABV. Hubbard's really created a wonderful brew with V8, I regret not picking up more while they were in stock. I'll be on the lookout for future versions!
