Iron & Glass - Romeoville, IL

V10 is a hazy, juice-looking, non-beer looking concoction. Think Jumex Pineapple nectar mixed with Jumex mango nectar. A finger plus of silky white foam came about fairly easily. It falls after a few minutes to a chunky ring and skim coat leaving behind spotty lacing on its way down. I've seen much worse looking Northeast style IPAs in the past, so there's that.

This beer smells like it looks and looks like it smells. Huge, huge overripe pineapple and soft mango jump from the glass. There's a touch of herbal greeness coming through the dense tropicals but just a touch. The only sugars I can pick out are simple white sugar that in this case compliment the tropical notes. This beer is packed with freshness but also very one dimensional. It's very candy-ish. This beer smells like it's packed with calories. With that said, they extracted a ton from the hop additions.

Again, this beer tastes like the Jumex combination of nectars that I mentioned above. It's full on pineapple and mango juices. A simple sugar here and there. Pineapple, mango. Mango, pineapple. That's about all there is to say about that.

The body is nice. There's a touch of velvety weight that is a welcomed addition on the moderately weighted body. There's no bitterness and the finish is long and drawn out with some residual sugars, though not necessarily sweet. It's highly drinkable.

V10 is tasty. It tastes like juice, not beer. It's bright and vibrant. There's no noticeable alcohol. It's extremely approachable. It has all those things going for it. It's just that, it doesn't taste like beer.

Posting a similar review to V9 because I couldn't tell much of a difference... I was hoping for a lot more from this since V4, V6, and V8 were so good!!! However both V9 and V10 have this weird creamy thing going on, almost like too much lactose or something, that really takes away from the flavor. Maybe it's the Amarillo hops? Either way V10 was pretty disappointing, and V9 is quite similar.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 750 mL bottle on December 31, 2017. Look is hazy orange gold with a thick head and lingering lacing. Smell and taste is a little off on this one. Feel is creamy and smooth.

This version, like V9, really took a huge step forward in their brewing of this series.

Great aroma and tastes of pineapple and citrus, with a lasting juice finish.

The only knock I would have with this version versus V9 is the carbonation was a tad low. If this had a higher level of carbonation, it would be a next level beer!
