750ml bottle, bottled on 05.16.18, fresh by 07.16.18, poured into a 12oz white wine glass.
The beer pours a very hazy and turbid orange color with a foamy white head, about two fingers tall with great retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is nice, juicy tropical pineapple, grassy and resinous with a bit of a white grape character and cantaloupe, fairly dank and piney with a soft sweet kiss of yeast and cereal grains. The flavors are good, juicy citrus, tons of pineapple with melon, grape must and a big backbone of green, leafy raw hops, floral, dank, resinous, piney and even lightly herbal, moderate bitterness but very dry and just a light amount of sweet pale grains. The mouthfeel is great, coating, creamy medium body, lively carbonation that is very smooth with a dry and crisp bite at the finish.
Verdict: A nice DIPA from Hubbard's Cave. juicy, excellent body and a nice balance. The hop combo isn't my favorite, very mosaic heavy, but the ancillary hops really help to round this one out and the balance between the earthy and dank qualities with the juicier fruit qualities is well done.
