Look: A warm root beer/caramel brown, translucent and cloudy, but with visible white-ish particles or sediment near the bottom. Light brown head
Smell: Earthy, piney with a faint nuttiness as it warmed in the glass. Not too complex.
Taste: Piney and hoppy first and foremost. Malty and refreshingly bitter throughout, especially the finish. Does not have the toasty and roasty flavors that have characterized so many other brown ales I've tried.
Feel: Good mouthfeel. Creamy, smooth, medium body
Overall: A nice bitter, hoppy ale. What was somewhat lacking in the look and smell was redeemed in the taste and feel.
