Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (20% clarity) deep and rich orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of rich and dank berries. Resinous melon. Some caramel. Underneath there's peach, plum, raspberry, and blackberry. Some grape as well. Resinous and dank, but not herbal. (4.00)
Flavor: Follows the nose with stronger tangerine. There's ripe melon and berries. Some sweet caramel malt followed by a resinous finish. Dank, but not herbal, nor bitter. Leans sweet with honey. (4.00)
Feel: Heavier bodied. Lower carbonation. Still smooth. A lingering resinous sweetness. (4.00)
Compared to Drekker Synaptic Cleft 7/31/22: Pours a darker color. Milder aromas. More dank and resinous tangerine and berries. Less lemon citrus, pineapple, green fruit. More tropical and resinous. Darker.
Compared to Maplewood Melting Mosaic 9/26/22: Pours a darker color, stronger aromas. Less tropical berry and melon. More resinous peach, plum, and cantaloupe.
Overall: A dank and sweeter IPA here. Lots of resinous tangerine, berries, melon. White and more peach as it warms. Sweet, resinous, and dank. Not herbal, nor bitter though. I would have thought Mosaic was used here as that's what it tastes like. A bit too sweet and dank for my liking, but fits the description well. I don't particularly like any of the characteristics super well, but the beer definitely drinks well. (Rating: 4.05, but should compare to Hopsurd)
