Formerly Chocolate Milk Stout

Spring, summer, fall or winter. Don’t miss out on this intensely roasted, silky smooth chocolatey goodness known as Dark Addiction. This beer pours dark as night with a nice tan frothy head and creaminess from the added lactose milk sugars. Rumor has it that chocolate milk is great for recovering proteins and nutrients after a hard work out, once you try Dark Addiction you may consider this your go-to drink after that 5K you struggle through this year.

Very good stout overall! It is a little bit on the sweeter side, which I normally don’t like as much, but done really well. Heavy beer though and I wouldn’t say I’d drink many in a sitting.

Crowler can. Fill date on label is 'NOV. '22'.
Black colored body with mahogany brown back lit edge. Frothy tan head, but this disappears in time. Spots of lacing left behind.
Aroma is dark roasted malts that are bitter with coffee. Some sweeter chocolate in the background.
Taste is started by the more bitter roasted coffee, which is joined by the sweeter chocolate. A better balance between bitter and sweet in the aftertaste.
Thinner mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Could use a thicker or creamier mouth feel.

Had this on tap at the taproom.

A: Pours a jet black color with a one-inch, foamy, khaki colored head with minimal retention. Thick khaki lacing throughout.

S: Strong aromas of chocolate milk accompanied by milder notes of coffee, vanilla, and toffee.

T: Taste matches aromas almost exactly. Chocolate milk flavors up front followed by some slightly bitter coffee and hop notes. Well balanced. Not overly sweet, but sweet enough to where I could only do one of these per visit.

F: Medium bodied, smooth, very creamy with light carbonation.

O: Overall, a great chocolate milk stout. Well balanced, but this is like a dessert beer for me and I could not drink more than one per session. None the less, pretty great stuff for and up and comer brewery.

Nicely done chocolate stout...the cocoa nibs used are definitely evident....a bit of a musty feel to this...body is on the light side of medium...medium carbonation...not a chocolate malt ball type flavor but more of a chocolate syrup like flavor (not that it is sticky sweet like that...just the impression of the flavor I had).

Above average beer. Looking forward to trying more from this place.
