Chill, with a crisp zest for life, Hans the grapefruit radler is the sweetheart we all know and love. Fresh grapefruit that quenches the thirst, slightly sweet, yet distinctly tart.

473 mL can from TBS; coded C21363 and served slightly chilled. "Fine Company Brewing" is a brand launched by Molson Coors in late 2020, brewed at their Moncton facility. It is not a 'real' brewery that was bought out (e.g. Creemore or Trou du Diable), but more along the lines of Rickard's, i.e. invented whole cloth by Molson to market beer to a certain segment (in this case, beer drinkers in the Maritimes).
Pours clear pale yellow, sporting nearly two inches of puffy, foamy white head that lasts for a couple of minutes. It leaves behind a sudsy, creamy collar and filmy cap, with minimal lace production - looks ok so far. It smells of coarse grains, grapefruit zest and lemon juice, with noticeable sugary sweetness.
It's not terrible, but as radlers go it's definitely not worth writing home about. A little sweet at the forefront, with table sugar, grapefruit flavouring and some lemony acidity; hints of graininess on the back end, dissipating into a mildly citrusy, moderately sugary aftertaste that doesn't last. Light in body, with active carbonation that froths up on the tongue, softly prickling and prodding the palate continuously throughout each sip. Decently refreshing and very easy to knock back.
Final Grade: 3.07, a C+. Fine Company's Hans Grapefruit Radler is honestly a bit underwhelming, and I don't think I'd recommend it over much of the competition. Why settle for this when you could have Stiegl Radler - or if you want to limit it to Maritime brews, why not Pump House's Crafty Radler? Even that Rickard's grapefruit radler from the mid 2010s had more grapefruit flavour than this. Acceptable if it's hot out and you're thirsty, but not the first radler I'd reach for.
