look: 3.25 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.25
I'm not sure I buy into the concept of a "Black Saison". Whatevs. There was a lot of licorice and roast on the nose, and none of the expected earth and spice of the style. On the tongue though, the typical Saison flavors came through. A pretty nice brew that's worth trying if you see it, I can't help but wonder if this is just a Porter fermented with a Saison yeast.
