750ml bottle with lavender wax served in a pair of small snifter/tulips. Don't see a date, 11.6% abv.
Pours dark, maybe black, small head, little retention, leaves a thick filmy lacing with sparse bubbles on the side of the glass. Clumps of sediment floating on the surface -- slimy, probably yeast. Smell chocolate first, a little fruity sweetness, if the guy at the store hadn't said banana, I might not have recognized it specifically.
Taste is boozy, heavy sweetness, chocolate and fruit (banana again, but now more because it tastes like banana than because my mind was seeded with the idea). Almost a coconut character to go along with it. Vanilla and bourbon.
Mouthfeel is thick, reeaaallllyyyyy thick. Bit of grittiness, probably from suspended sediment. Overall...nice, interesting, tasty. Lots going on, a little overwhelming.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a very thin, somewhat fizzy dark brown head that dissipates completely with no lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and coconut; slightly nutty. Flavor is dark toasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, coconut and light molasses. Lingering coconut caramel. Medium to heavy bodied with silky, moderate creaminess and great mouth feel; carbonation fine despite near still pour. A bit deceptive, this one. The aroma is good, but somewhat subdued, with coconut the major component. The flavor, however, displays the caramel, coconut and a rich, full bodied malt with good chocolate and molasses notes. Well harmonized for a stout with two flavor adjuncts; both are used with a deft hand. Deceptively does not show its ABV. A slightly sweet, decadent coconut/caramel stout. Nicely done. The brief head had a really dark brown look to it; wish it had stuck around. I was lucky to get a bottle of this, would have been glad to find another.
