An Imperial Stout aged in both Weller and Four Roses Barrels for 15 months (100% barrel stock). We took the most decadent of the barrels and blended them on top of six pounds of Comoros and PNG Vanilla beans. This is by far the most vanilla forward, yet balanced BBA stout we have made. We are very excited to share this with you all.

2021 vintage (third quarter blend); consumed on 9/6/2022
Pours a viscous, inky, motor-oil black body topped with a finger and a half of craggy, pale mocha foam; mediocre head retention levels to a paper-thin sliver of cap, large, creamy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to a fluffy marshmallow edge accented with musty plum and soft oak as bigger overtones of bourbon toffee build into dark cocoa over time.
Taste offers expansive bourbon heat and a residual, toasty toffee easing to musty plum and rye spice over the mid-palate; oaky vanillins level to confectionary extract on the back end, leaving notes of dusty cocoa to finish.
Mouthfeel is intensely rich, leaving silky textures to wash over subtle, pillowy carbonation; semi-sticky over the mid-palate, while warmth encourages drying through the back end and a mild char staves of any syrupy subtext on the finish.
Heavy bourbon to the point of encouraging an almost confectionary vanilla washes over a viscous air of dark fruit, a fluffy weight projected across the palate and attempting to alleviate the lingering elements of artificial sweetness and boozy heat.
