Crisp and pure. This pilsner goes down smooth but has a very unique taste. In some ways, this beer is like a traditional pale lager in its drinkability and clean taste.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned April 1/25. My third beer from the Little Current, Ontario brewery, and second for 2025. With Sundae the cat...

473ml can served cold into a beer mug. LCBO purchase. Canned April 1, 2025.

Appearance -Moderately hazy dark golden beer with lots of visible bubbles. A finger and a half of foamy white head poured and good head retention.

Smell - Lots of bready malts, a touch of sourdough. Faint grassiness behind the bread forefront.

Taste - Crisp bready flavor, a fair bit of sweetness, low bitterness. A pinch of lemon added in for depth.

Mouthfeel - Very crisp, well carbonated, easy drinking.

Overall - Solid local pilsner that presses virtually all of the buttons. Very few options would be clearly a notch or two above Ten Mile Point.

The burnished gold is gem clear (SRM 3). A two-inch head transforms from tight to loose as it settles over several minutes. Patches of sticky lace cling to the glass while fine bubbles of carbonation casually ascend within the pilsner glass.

The aroma is simple, reminiscent of water crackers. Lots of grain is accented by light floral sweetness in the background. Warmth brings out mild diacetyl compounds.

The flavor is crisp. Pepper and watercress or celery. Spicy bitterness leads to slight sweetness. Overall, it is dry with a prolonged finish filled with grains.

It has a medium body with the texture of scratchy nylon and is a bit stiff. Alcohol is absent, while fizzy carbonation bursts upon entry and carries on for a few seconds.

This is a good drinking beer that pairs well with a nutty Gouda. One could easily spend an afternoon sipping this beer amidst casual conversation and a game of cards.

Had this a second time, direct from the brewery and found it to be still a solid Pilsner. Produced a lot of lace and had great retention, although the slightly cloudy pale body didn't seem quite right. Smells of wondefuly grassy and lemon hops and offer a light bitterness with a solid grain and mixed hops. Clean aftertaste and highly drinkable.

Tallboy from the LCBO; dated May 30 2021 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy pale golden colour, topped with a finger of fluffy, foamy white head that seeps away over the next three minutes or so. Its remains include a wide, frothy collar surrounding a filmy-thin cap; a scant amount of lace has also been flung about in the process. Clean aroma, but very subdued - hints of grainy malts and grassy, slightly lemony hops are all I'm really getting.

This is a quality pils - mostly grainy malts and a light bready sweetness, countered by grassy, floral, slightly lemony noble hops at the finish. Low bitterness, with maybe a faint twinge of diacetyl, which is fine for this style. Light in body, with moderately aggressive carbonation that remains prickly well into the course of the glass; crisp and refreshing, with extraordinary drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.84, a worthy B+. A good pilsener is like simplicity at its finest, and Ten Mile Point is one of the better Ontario-made examples I've found so far. There is nothing fancy about this beer at all, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be perfectly happy pounding these back one after another. I drink a lot of Czechvar/Budvar, and this is at least knocking on the same tier in terms of quality. Wish I'd found this one a few months ago, as the low abv and full flavour make it a very good summer afternoon session beer candidate - e.g. in the backyard, or the cottage/trailer, etc.
