Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Number 54 is a lighter offering - a blonde ale brewed with pilsner and honey malt. The beer pours a slightly hazy, pale straw color with pleasant crackery notes of honey on the nose. Flavors of lemon peel and toasted wheat overlay a slightly herbaceous quality. Overall, an extremely crisp and refreshing entry in the Permutation serious that is perfect for those in search of something easy-drinking.
MALT: Pilsner Malt, Honey Malt

L - pours a dark gold with a very sparse-looking head. Surprised it's as tall as it is and lasts as long as it does. Moderate haze, clear by Trillium standards.
S - tart berries and coriander. Smells more like a sour than a blonde! Lots of oats.
T - lemon and orange zest. Hollow, topical flavor. More berries and then the pilsner malt comes in. Insanely crisp and drinkable.
F - very light and fluffy with a larger-than-life body. Full and boisterous like a peacock. There's obviously not much substance behind it all, but it makes a valiant effort for its ABV.
O - it's a blond ale. It's solid with tight, taught flavors and easy-drinking for sure. A little too wheat-heavy which can give it a bit of a diacetyl effect not helped by the orange, but solid all the same.
