Bought this crowler from Beer Drop that was filled 5/28. Fresh helps improve an ale.
Also helping is the three years since Launch Pad released this saison. They improved it... or at least so I think; based on reading the review by the venerable StonedTrippin below. The brewer reduced the lime. Instead of the ale being the food (key lime pie), this saison now paired well with summer fare of salads and burgers. I wouldn't have this again with anything other than summer fare, but it worked well enough.

I went on Launch Pad's website... and it could be better developed for a brewer pushing six. I'd like to know more about them... other than Launch Pad being one more brewer in a seemingly saturated market, but still producing and coming out of Covid to grow again.

they call this one a key lime pie saison, and its quite tart, not sure if just from the heavy handed edition of limes, or if they actually sour this one up a little bit, i would guess the later as this has a bacterial sting to it beyond what i would expect from citrus fruit alone. its a little flat from the tap and a little too still to be all the way refreshing, but the flavors here are excellent and really do taste like the pie. the lime is natural and strong both juicy fresh and zesty bitter, complete spectrum and really tasty. there is some sweetness from the wheat malt that makes this a little fuller and a little desserty, sort of acting as the crust, and the tang balances the sweet well, almost savory on the whole. more bubbles would make it. this is a pretty cool beer, still a little raw and unrefined, but the flavor is great for the summery and the sharpness is exciting. i thought all the beer in here was pretty solid, impressive for a little brewery that doesnt really seem to be on anyones radar yet...
