Draught pour at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It pours a hazy, grassy yellow-orange color with a thick, creamy, milk-white head and lacing. Its smell includes lemon, clove, coriander, tobacco, and musty herbal notes. As it warms there are hints of banana and orange. The taste is a bit fruitier than the nose indicates with a nice presence of orange peel. The Belgian spicing is appropriate but rather subdued. There is a dose of pepper corn at the finish. It lacks the sharp flavors of the better known Saisons. The mouth feel is crisp and lite with a good level of carbonation, and it drinks very easily at 6.3% ABV. Overall, if considered purely as a Saison, Shore Break falls well short of the leaders of the style. However, when viewed as a summertime Farmhouse crusher it checks all the boxes. I could see drinking it on the beach as an alternative to a Pale Ale or IPA. Also, it's an easy entree for someone not experienced with Belgian farmhouse ales.
