Poured from fresh growler into tulip glass. It pours a cloudy, apricot-orange color with a half finger of milk-white head and lacing that dissipated almost immediately. It's nose is classic Saison: banana, lemon, coriander, clove, Belgian yeast, and a whiff of tobacco. The taste features all the elements: both sweet banana and citrus, cracker, yeast, and Belgian spicing. There is also a noticeable smokiness. All of the tastes compliment each other nicely. There's less carbonation than I expected, perhaps due to the growler, but the overall feel is lite and crisp, and the moderate 5.6% ABV doesn't distract. Overall, this is a nicely-crafted, great tasting, Saison. I'd like to see a little more carbonation and head retention but again that may be the fault of the growler. While Set the Vector isn't at the level of, say Hennepin or Saison Dupont, it's a fine beer brewed locally. I'll definitely drink it again.

A: hazy pale yellow color. Like grains.
S: sweet citrus, barnyard funk, floral hops, and a hint of pineapple. The funk in here is nice, and something I don't smell in too many Saisons these days
T: lots of funk. Earthy grains, lemongrass, some nice floral notes. A hint of diactyl - but not in a bad way. There is a nice malt sweetness as well as a little strawberry presence
M: lighter side of medium. Carbonation is at a high level which is good for a saison
O: I like this. This reminds me of a Fantome beer. The funk is a nice treat, and the hops add a nice sweetness (not bitterness) to counter the funk. Definite recommend
