Last year, we short-filled the kettle to brew this imperial version of our Georgetown Porter. More roasty, more chocolately, more ABV and more delicious (if that’s even possible). Since then, the beer has been in first use Heaven Hills bourbon barrels, quietly waiting to be released into the world. Take all that roasty, chocolately goodness and add bourbon and vanilla notes from barrel aging, and you have a winter sipper sure to please.

Received in a trade with @snaotheus ! Pours a viscous ebony with a creamy tan head. Subtle bourbon aroma. Nice licorice sweetness upfront with charcoal and vanilla notes. Lush mouthfeel with delicate carbonation. Overall, glorious!

22oz bottle served in a little Redhook sample glass. Date is 2020. Bought it at the brewery yesterday. This year's batch says its 10%, the listing currently says it's 11%.
Pours very dark brown, translucent along the edges, with a slow rise and fall of head, and medium to high carbonation. Smell is bourbon, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, some anise, almost a root beer characteristic with the anise and vanilla.
Taste is a friendly, gentler version of the aroma. All the same stuff, melding together quite nicely. I do get a little booze, but I kind of have to look for it. Roast bitterness dominates the finish.
Mouthfeel is soft, smooth. Overall, this is a very nice beer.

Crowler from Uptown Market. 2019 vintage.
Jet black with a dark brown head with good retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is rich, dark and chocolate heavy with cocoa, roast, a little coffee, a little dark fruit. Rich , boozy fudge like bourbon with a little coconut is present. The palate opens rich and roasty with a dark chocolate bitterness and flavor, dark fruit and bourbon. Mild coffee and chicory notes. Fullnin body, softly carbonated, this is quite excellent.

On tap at the brewery.
The beer pours a blackish brown color with good head retention and decent lacing. On the nose, you can tell right off this is going to be terrific. I picked up considerable bourbon, dark chocolate, chocolate malts balls, light coffee, vanilla and dark fruits. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this rich, moderately sweet beer, with the chocolate and malt balls seeming to dominate. Mouthfeel is fairly full with a long, sweet, rich finish. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, though you can tell it's up there a bit.
Altogether excellent beer and one of the better porters I've ever tasted. This is a beer I would order whenever I spot it on the menu. Great stuff.

Very dark brown with plenty of beige foam in the chalice. Lovely aroma of Bourbon with a touch of vanilla. More smooth than woody, this is a more elegant kind of barrel-aged brew. Rather hot with alcohol, but it goes nicely with the malty.
Sweet and spicy with a vanilla taste. Lots of caramel and a dose of burnt sugar. Not burnt tasting, but plenty of roasted grain. This is very sippable with lots of interest and a friendly finish. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station.

Very dark appearance with significant tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a nice mild malt and chocolate. Taste is a rich malt and coconut that is usually associated with a higher alcohol beer.
