An American version of a classic German style. Subdued yeast character and a slightly tart, citrusy finish.

Really good Hefe. Has a nice pour with a minimal head and a nice golden color. Aroma is grain and sweet breads with a hint of hops. Taste really shines as it has a nice bitterness for a Hefe along with the sweetness, balances out this beer. This is one of my favorite Hefe's. 17 IBUs Rated 9-21-2023

12oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Roused a bit before the pour. Dated 11/29/21. Bought it a couple weeks ago at Total Wine.
Pours a surprisingly clear dark gold with a medium sized head that collapses to a fine, thin sheet. Smell is moderately grainy / wheaty, a little bit of a earthy bitterness, lacking the banana / clove I typically look for and find in hefs.
Taste is moderate sweetness, I could almost take that as a banana flavor, slight herbal bitterness to go along with the earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, leaning toward thin. Overall...it's really not a bad beer at all, but it's really not very to-style for a hef. I'd drink it again, but I wouldn't look for it.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned on 7/20/21, which doesn't seem too old for a hefeweizen.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy foam atop. I mean, it's not as hazy as I like a beer marketed as a "hefeweizen" to be.
Smell: light, sweetish malt, with a hint of wheat and biscuit. It's not bursting with the banana aroma I love in the style, indeed it's not really bursting with anything. It's rather light, though free from off-aromas.
Taste: I would not call this a hefeweizen. Maybe a pale wheat ale? It's very light, with a dash of wheat flavor, and a rather high sweetness. It's not bad, per se, it's just profoundly ... uninteresting.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a light carbonation and OK creaminess.
Overall: this is among the most mediocre beers I have had. It's not a drain pour, but it's certainly not a buy-again.
