On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a dark-ish amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like earthy and slightly bitter hops, caramel malts, and some nice breadiness.
This feels pretty spot on as bitters go, in my mind. It’s nicely malty, with a pleasantly spicy and earthy hop bitterness on the finish. There’s not a lot of complexity, but it drinks easy, and you don’t have to think about it very much. That seems to be the point with this style.
This is light bodied, slightly creamy, with a great drinkability.
I don’t know a whole lot about Good Measure, but I always seem to enjoy the random beer I see here and there on tap at in Vermont.

Perfect dinner beer. Low carbonated, malt not too strong, and lon lasting freshness in the glass. And after dinner it is very sessionable to go on. Cheers

Growlette pour to a becher pint glass, a pint glass and a mug. The mug seemed to have kept the head the best. Yes, first signs of a nice ESB to come. From the mug, the appearance was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Leaves a messy lace roaming around the glass uneven. The aroma takes the British sweet maltiness flowing nicely over clean grassy sweet to an earthy appropriate cleanness. The flavor takes the grassy/earthy clean sweetness flowing into the aftertaste and on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt low key. Very smooth as a Bitter. Overall, nicely done Bitter that could fulfill it’s destiny as a great food beer. Next time, definitely.
