Belgian-Style Grisette Brewed W/ Buckwheat & Local Hops
21 IBU
Pilsner Malt, Wheat Malt, Raw Buckwheat, Flaked Wheat
Palisade, Liberty, Goldings
We fell in love with this style of beer early on. Originally brewed to be low-alcohol easy drinking beer for the mine workers in the Wallonian region of Belgium. Heavy with both wheat malts and raw buckwheat this beer has a full mouth feel but has a dry finish because of our unique yeast strain. Lots of late hopping and an warm fermentation throw notes of flowers and stone fruit into the mix as well. We love this beer.

Growler to tulip.
The appearance was a chill burnt orange haze with a cap of a little white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Slight lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some sweet grass, lemongrass, sweet wheat, light peach, light funk and ended with subtle tones of herbal qualities.
The flavor was moderately sweet pulling in the prior mentioned aromas to glide into each other nicely. Light bready tones, but super smooth and then delving into the aftertaste with a light soothing funk and herbal qualities.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a very nice sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected, nice and low. Pretty smooth rolling over my tongue.
Overall, nice grissette worthy of having with it's respected food. I'd have again.
