FloMo Czech style Pilsner by Narrow Gauge. 4.8% ABV. Pours an orangish yellow with clean white head. It’s cloudy with lots of fine carbonation rising from the bottom. Minimal lacing. Smells of sweet bread and slight grassiness. Tastes very smooth and clean with just a little hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light with nice carbonation. Overall very easy drinking and makes a good summer beer.

Pours yellow with an orange tint. Translucency has a mild fog to it. Head is two fingers of white foam. Aroma is heavy cracker malts, with biscuits and bready malts just behind. Minor herbal hops add some texture to the dry aroma. Flavor profile continues the dry malt storyline, melding crackers, wafers, and biscuits together. Minor herbal and grass hops add some extra play. As a whole, it's dry. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. It never quite feels crispy with soft spots around the edges. Overall, solid, dry lager.

i know its all about the hoppy beers in here at narrow gauge, but i was pleasantly surprised by just how good this czech style pils is, totally out of their wheelhouse on this, but its awesome beer. nearly perfectly clear with a passive bit airy white head on it, and a nose of noble hop goodness, saaz all the way, one of my favorites in this context, grassy and limey and fresher than it usually is in these, bolder too, really appealing. the malt aspect is real light in nose and taste, not even crackery, just simple, delicate, and dry. the lager yeast is mildly flavored as well, but its work has been thorough, this is super crisp and clean, bone dry, and with just the right amount of flavor left from the yeast at the end. the hoppiness is brisk and summery to me, there is a great smoothness to the feel, and carbonation is way up, on point for this style, especially such a light and drinkable example of it. i know this will never get the hype of their ipa types, thats just the nature of the game right now, but it deserves it. this is really solid pils, showing they are much more than a one trick pony here...
