Clear golden body, two fingers of white foam. Smells of grass, herbs, grain, lemon zest, slight minerality, dull dried berry and a hint of... cotton candy?!? Interesting, I don't hate it. Taste is simpler and more traditional: grass, grain, herbs, grains, floral yeast, minerals, lemon peel. Feel is crisp and light, high carbonation thins a bit, dries out through the sip, more malty for the style. This is a a nice easy drinking beer with plenty to keep you interested each sip, would fit best with late spring

Bought at Lincoln Park Binny's Premium shelf, build-your-4-Pack.
Good to have a cloudy lager, just to remind me that a traditional lager doesn't have to be the dominant traditional.
Frisches' also has a nice foam. Smells mostly of mixed grain malt and some orange from somewhere. Tastes are balanced; the style can be hoppy to me, but Frisches is not. Soft, medium-mouthed and palate-cleansing with lunch of a veggie burger. I've been drinking from the Kalea Calendar this past week (many Bavarian pales) and Frisches fits right in.
My first from Narrow Gauge, I see they make their money making NEIPAs; so their jump from super-fruit to this clean lager has been made skillfully. I went on their website and sense it has not evolved much for this 8 year old micro. Most that age also have a taproom well before that age. Maybe suburban Florissant doesn't give its micros enough love. So is Narrow Gauge on a limited track? You decide.

Canned 8/14/23; drank 9/3/23 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE, noisy off-white head; strong lacing remained.
Fresh corn, orange peel & mild raw wheat notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Corn, wheat & faint orange peel flavors.
While this should have some heft as an unfiltered beer, it was heavy & almost syrup-y. Flavors were solid but overall a near-miss for me.

On tap at International Tap House. Poured a clear, amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of bready malt, caramel and toffee. Sweet biscuity malt taste with caramel and a mild bitterness.

Canned 2022/05/02
Pours a frothy 1 finger foamy rich head with good retention, soapy lacing, hazy pale tan slight orange color
Nose rich grainy malt, cereal, straw, fair amount of corn, sweet bread and a bit of dough, light floral herbal hop
Taste brings lots of grainy sweet malt again, fair doughy and a bit creamy, more sweet bread, a bit of corn and straw, doughy cereal, light floral herbal hops, touch grassy, just a touch of fruity note, light bitterness then drier finish with more herbal spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is med to a bit lighter bod, a bit soft and creamy, med carb
Overall not bad, not as much overall flavor and aroma as I expected, but still well within the style and enjoyable.

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a slightly darker straw gold with a little haze to it. this lager’s aroma is so complex to me. i get mild herbal and fruity hops plus bread and malts. it’s got a perfume like quality to the nose while still smelling like beer. taste is similar although it is a little less complex on the tongue than on the nose. a nice, full and well carbonated mouthfeel make this a home run for me. beyond great lager that surpassed all my expectations.

Light copper to dark gold in color. There’s a fingernail of dishwater white around the rim and two thirds of the top. The aroma is of light, biscuity malt and a suggestion of grassy hops. I’m tasting that light malt and biscuity flavor. The hops are very faint but they are grassy. The mouth is very light, approachable, and easygoing.

Pours a crystal clear very light straw color. Thick white head collapses quickly leaving no residual head on top of the beer.
Aroma is quite subdued by has has notes of grains, corn, white bread and some light fruity melon notes.
Taste follows the nose with notes of grain, a hint of sweet corn like notes, some white bread, and some melon fruitless with a slightly tinge of peppery spice on the finish. Its clean and crisp.
Feel is light, bright, and crisp
Overall thoughts: This is listed/marketed as a kellerbier, but to my palate its just a basic AAL type lager brewed with European hops. its a solid AAL and Id pick this over many of the other options out there, but I was disappointed on how well it executed the marketed style.

16oz can. Appearance: Golden and crystal clear, with a frothy white head and decent lacing.
Aroma: Herbal, spicy hop notes over a cracker and biscuit malt aroma.
Taste: Buscuity malt sweetness up front, and a floral hop note with a moderate perceitbitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied for the style with a moderate carbonation
Finish: Dry bitterness lingers and seems to be stronger after the swallow. Very little residual maltiness
Overall: Pretty standard Pilsner, with a bitterness level between a Helles and Pils. Very much a German Pils malt and hop character, with a slightly lower bitterness level, and a relatively restrained hop aroma compared to others
