Nucleated Tulip
Look: slightly hazy gold-yellow color, pouring a 1.5 finger head which dissipated into a fluffy cap
Smell: Bright lime zest, vanilla, sweet graham cracker
Taste: Limey tartness, light graham cracker sweetness, lactose funk. finish is full of light malt notes and vanilla. Hint of alcohol comes through
Feel: light-moderate body, with a smooth finish. near silky texture, with gentle carbonation
Overall: Overall this is a amazing sour that completely matches expectations. Strong flavors and very complex

The taste of pastry and pie without much sweetness sounds like a terrible idea. But when life serves you limes, you make sour beer. And that's just what Southern Grist does with their key lime inspires Northern German gose.

Cloudy yellow and looking more of the part of lemon than of lime, Key Lime Pie Gose pours with a skinny froth of trickling white lace. Striking aromas of lime, cream, vanilla and cidery tartness swirl about the nose with a background of toasted nuttiness in the wake. But to taste, its that toasted nuttiness that brings a full out caramelized, honey-dipped granola flavor that swoons the tastebuds first.

And then the layers begin to build. Sweet cream, vanilla and taffy bring the graham cracker character into the pastry world where the taste of agave and lime await. The underlying beer simmers with the natural sourness of cider, white wine, green berry, kiwi and guava extend into the cream for a meringue and yogurt kind of way. Trailing with sourness, sourdough and saltwater taffy, a refreshing margarita character replaces the sweetness to ensure drinkability and crispness.

Medium bodied but cleanly layered, the complex flavors of pie come together effortlessly. Its body is bolstered by the additions of cream, vanilla and graham cracker but the brisk salinity keeps the palate light and drying. A quick finish of citrus peel is outlasted only by echoes of graham cracker for a pleasant and whimsical linger.

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 04/13/18

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy/fizzy two-finger white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with a nice little coriander note, lime, some vanilla, graham crackers, tart. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, with a nice little lime note, coriander, tart, nice vanilla note, graham crackers. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. I like this one. Thanks John!
