We made a very special DIPA to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Vic Secret hops, then double dry hopped for a massively tropical and stone fruit profile throughout.

On tap.
A - Dark opaque golden orange with medium lacing.
S - Tropical fruit with some pulpy presence on the nose.
T - Overall taste is green, pulpy, tropical fruit with sweet grapefruit, light herbal, and some spicy fruit rind.
M - BIG medium body that pillowy soft and chewy.
O - This beer started out pretty “meh” but it started to build really quick on the flavor side of things. This is a pretty cool beer worth checking out!

This is a fantastic beer that I hope turns into a regular.
Very fruity nose and taste. Lots of grapefruit and mango. You can kinda tell it is double dry hopped.
It is very dry, but incredibly smooth finish.

My what a year that Souther Grist has had. Going from a small startup brewery hoping to gain a footing in the local Nashville beer scene to quickly competing with some of the best imperial IPA in all the land. Guns 'a blazin' for their first anniversary, they're letting all their hops hang out heading into year two.
Their One Year Anniversary has the beautifully off putting murk that's become coveted within the circles of hop heads. As a cottony white head builds and its lace clinging to the glass, a juicy, herbal, citrusy and tropical medley of perfumes waft onto the nose. Fruit juices splash the front of the tongue with honeysuckle, light caramel, angel food cake and the slightest savory sun kissed grains to give the hops a succulent impression.
As the ale blossoms on the middle palate, its malts begin to relax and those hop flavors begin to really take off. Citrusy with red grapefruit, blood orange, mandarin and lemon, the fruit sweetness soon bridges into more exotic fruit varieties of pineapple, mango, apricot, papaya, passionfruit and melon. A late charge of leafy hops deliver smooth bitterness of fresh crass clippings, tea-like botanicals and a kiss of cannabis to boot.
Medium bodied and continual with smooth bitterness, steady drying, the beer's hops are softly resinous with slightly restrained hop bite. Pushing the edge on grassy flavor, a mild vegetative astringency hides behind the floral fruitiness that ushers in a medium long aftertaste of fruit peels and herbaceous curiosities.

The beer comes in a light golden full hazy color.
The aroma explodes of overripe strawberries, Watermelon Bubbalicious, cotton candy, pink candy.
The flavor follows with more overripe strawberries, pink candy, bubble gum, peach smoothie, a creamy malt light doughy malt in the middle, but it ends off quite astringent and really dry at the finish.
It's unreal to believe that this beer does not have fruit addition. Aroma and flavor upfront are unmatched.

Jesus this beer is good. Pours cloudy AF and smells of so much tropical fruit. Maybe a touch of bitterness, but this is just like all those crazy hazy ipas from Treehouse and Trillium . Hope they make more of this.
