6 oz draft pour at Lures Bar & Grille. All of the stated flavor components are present and accounted for: tart passionfruit, earthy coconut, lime and citrus. Not over-the-top, fairly well-balanced, easy to drink. Solid.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, wine glass
This beer pours amber and hazy. It is topped with a fleeting head.
Lime and passionfruit aroma. The lactose is there too.
Passionfruit flavor upfront. Lactose comes in the middle with tart lime in the finish. Thankfully, the coconut is well hidden.
Medium bodied with a dryish mouthfeel
The passionfruit and lime play nicely together. Great tart lime finish along with the fact the the coconut is MIA is fantastic.

Going south of the boarder for inspiration of their sour smoothie ale, Southern Grist goes on a road trip with Finback brewers across many boarders and into the cocktail world of Brazil.
Their Passionfruit Batida pours with a rich and pale straw visual texture while floating a soft and creamy cap. As the appetizing aromas of citrus, coconut, cream and tartness tease the nose, the flavors splash the early palate with a creamy, sweet and tart interplay of taffy, vanilla wafer and hint of sweet cream.
But that foundation of malt is just a springboard for the citrusy flavors of lime, orange and a hint of grapefruit to bring a zesty flavor to life. But the additions of passionfruit has the session seeming tropical with an exotic zing. Suggestions of pineapple and mango can also be tasted before the session trends sour with gooseberry, lime, lemon, white grape and crabapple.
Finishing fruity and tart, the sour ale is refreshingly acidic with a tropical overtone. A brief afterglow of fruit peels and dry burlap has the session caught between the worlds of cocktail and beer.

Pours a dirty orange-brown with minimal head. Orange juice, passion fruit, lemon on the nose. Strong acidity on the palate, with the lime dominating the whole affair. Modest coconut that only really shows up after a few sips have numbed the sour receptors. The passion fruit is a nice tropical squeeze but also plays second fiddle to the very sharp lime.

Collaboration with Finback.
Brewed with Lactose, Orange Juice, Lime Peel, Passion Fruit, & Coconut.
9/24/20
Into Ploughshare glass.
Pours a wonderful juicy orange with a 1/2 finger of head to start that recedes nearly instantly to nothing.
The tropical aroma notes coming from this beer...just otherworldly. It's a Caribbean cruise in a can. Brings coconut, mango, rum, spiked iced tea, and oak, with brighter notes of lime, passion fruit, honey, and tangerine. The coconut rum is loudest of all. Insane.
The flavor is just as intense and brings bright orange, muscat, coconut, vanilla, key lime, apricot, mango, passion fruit, more coconut, and rum, in that order. It's simply incredible. It's a total fruit explosion with tons of Caribbean character. If it were a touch less sour, it would be perfect.
Feel is semi-juicy, very acidic, medium bodied, mild alcohol heat, busy carbonation.
Overall, it's a sipper due to its intensely sour nature, but the flavor and aroma are world-class. Artisan. This is a Caribbean cruise in a can. Absolutely amazing.
Price paid : $20.99 / 4 pack

Can dated 4/27:
Ok, this is one of those cocktail-inspired beers, it appears. And it’s a weird one, but likeable.
Hazy yellow, collar of white, some lacing - strong for a wild ale.
Nose is toasted coconut, line, passionfruit, and a somewhat cheesy yeast note.
Taste is strong on passionfruit, a bite of lime to close it and kickstart the coconut/funky cheesy notes. Almost flat soda carbonation, accentuated by a pseudo lemon-lime soda flavor. The flavors come at me as fruity tart/sour more than “wild” sour, but wherever the flavors come from, they work well enough for me.

definitely one of, if not the very best of the kettle sours we had in here, which isnt necessarily really saying much, i thought the sours were pretty weak, especially compared to how good a lot of their hoppy beers were tasting, but this one is a winner, tropical inspired with coconut and lime and passion fruit and some lactose, which normally i dont care for in this, but its rightly restrained here and adds something unique to it. there is a lot of tartness in nose and flavor, lacto sourness but also some tannins, some pucker from the passion, and a zesty twang from the lime, lots of citrus here for sure. the coconut is what i like the best in the flavor, it tastes fleshy and natural and tropical, bold in the mix but not like sunscreen or something starbucks would make, its real and its good. the passion fruit is cool in here too, and it all comes together really well, even some wheat malt remaining in the flavor, which wasnt true in most of their others, as flavored as this is it still tastes like beer. a really fun offering, nice for the summer, and while still a little dirty with the souring and still less carbonated than i want it to be, its a cool beer, drinkable compared to the others, and creative enough to keep me entertained. the coconut aspect is awesome, it makes it for me!
