16 oz can, dated 8/18/21, into Prairie Rastal.
Has a wonderful mixed fruit juice color - orangey-pink-peach, with a very stable head of 2 fingers. As I twist it in the rastal, it goups up lacing on the walls thickly.
Aroma is sharp fruit punch, mango, guava, peach, and pineapple. Zero sweetness, all fruit and ice. Similar to their Fruitopia series.
Flavor brings guava and fruit punch firstly, with a certain ICEE-quality to it. Again, just like Kakigori, they've implemented shaved ice into the equation. Follow-up flavors of peach, mango, pineapple, and berries. Getting some Capri Sun vibes. Freezie (ICEE is what I call it) inspired, for sure. However if you are expecting similar sugar and sweetness, you won't get it (no lactose here), and that's okay to me because the real thing usually has to melt before you're tasting pure sugar instead of the ice anyhow. The first sip (before I sat down) was pretty uninspiring but these follow up sips are building and creating a wonderful presence on the tongue. You have to keep sipping to keep the flavors going and swirling on the palate. It resets within 30 seconds or so and then you have to start over with that initial bitter guava sting.
Feel is very juicy and very acidic, with lots of carbonation and some tight cracker crispness. Minimal alcohol heat.
Overall, a solid juicy little "Capri Sun"-like beer. Beers like these are not at the level of their Hill beers, and are sometimes hit and miss, but are still enjoyable. This last haul I did contained no Hill beers, and it's my fault for pulling the trigger too early but they waited 7 weeks to release a new one and I was almost out of SG already. There have been a couple disappointing ones this time but this is not one of them. Well-done and unique. Like a lite Guava-Fruit Punch Kakigori.
