This small batch beer was aged on over 100 pounds of “double stuff” chocolate and cream sandwich cookies and is sure to satiate your sweet tooth craving.

There's so many gimmicks, tricks and marketing ploys in the craft beer market that most of us are over it. "Hey... is that a double stuffed oreo imperial stout?" ...never mind.

Southern Grist puts their imperial stout prowess to the test with a healthy heaping dose of the dunkable cookies with Over Stuff. Pouring a rich dark brown, seemingly black depth, a firm but short froth mounts the glass and brings an equally rich scent of dark chocolate, cream, coffee, nuttiness and woodsiness to the senses. Decadent malt sweetness unrolls on the tongue to reveal a toffee, molasses, maple and cream flavor of marshmallow and pulled candy.

Its robust char rises on the middle palate to offer an expresso hearty taste with underlying toastiness of black walnut, faint smoldering embers and cocoa. Brownie batter and and fudgy taste with a marshmallowy texture continues rolling into the late palate where the coffee bitterness helps to balance the taste in a creamy tiramisu kind of way.

Full bodied, velvety and rich, Over Stuff is a beer that drinks like dessert. A long and savory sweetness remains supported and lavish from the very first sip until an extended kahlua spiced finish.

Maybe my expectations were to high, but this was nowhere near as good as the other sg stouts. I get everyone is all hyped cause it was 1pp, but this is a sweet mess with surprisingly little Oreo flavor ( atleast compared to how flavorful beers like fluffernutter are) . Overall it’s got a lot of nice attributes but falls short for a brewery routinely makes world class stouts
