6 week old can poured into a Teku.
Off the charts great Nelson-focused hazy IPA in terms of look, aroma, and feel, but unfortunately a little lacking on the tongue, else this would be up there as a favorite Nashville beer.
Attractive yellow-gold coloring with moderate haze (actually fairly clear in the pour) and a big, pillowy head of bright white bubbles. Solid retention and really nice rings of lacing.
Aroma profile is all Nelson, all day, and I love it. Massive notes of wine grape, gooseberry, passion fruit, underripe citrus, green onion, and extremely dank greens. A little mango and cat pee to round things out. The dankness and heavy green grape aspects (fruit and vine) really carry this one. It’s not overly complex or nuanced given the dominant single hop persona, which prevents it from being all-time great. But it’s a fantastic representation of the Nelson hop, which is one of my very favorites.
Unfortunately the flavor profile isn’t in the same league at all. Very dry and grassy, with a little greenness and mild pith. Citrus, grape, berry, and melon, though none in big doses. Extremely mild, especially coming after the amazing aromas. It’s easy drinking for sure, but this one really could have been epic with a more robust tongue.
Feel is wonderfully soft, full, and silky, with perfect carbonation.
