Received from @jdell15 in a BIF. Canned on 9/26/2020. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a pretty, cranberry-magenta color with over a finger of frothy, pastel pink head and lacing. A truly fruity nose featuring ripe cherry and cranberry with more subtle notes of vanilla cream. The taste opens with sweet cherry - like cherry soda - but it's quickly balanced by tart - almost sour - cranberry. There are also hints of black cherry are currant. The lactose is well-hidden by the fruit and it adds only token sweetness. In the background there is a hint of dry cracker. The mouth feel features lively carbonation and with the bright fruit flavor, the punchy 7.3% ABV is barely noticeable. It's easy to drink this ale quickly. Overall, fans of fruited kettle sours will really enjoy Imperial Double Fruited Caprison Hill. What really makes this ale is the tart cranberry. It would drink equally well on a hot summer's day or during the holiday season.
