Edit : they’ve changed the recipe and it’s no longer even worth buying. It tastes like strawberry tang now.
Original score : 4.94
16 oz can, canned on 9/2/20, into Bearded Iris Teku.
Pours a delightfully murky juicy wheat bread color with a super super creamy cap, 3 fingers, receding slowly to a finger, leaving tons of creamy lace destroying the glass. Wonderful.
Smells JUST LIKE a peanut butter & jelly sandwich, with a heavier hand on the strawberry jelly. Amazing. It makes my mouth water.
Flavor is basically a peanut butter and sour strawberry jelly sandwich. It's freaking beautiful. It brings tart strawberry jelly first, followed by bread crusts, then nutty peanut butter, and a finish of strawberry preserves. Apart from the extra sourness, I probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference from the real thing.
Feel is creamy but light, with a soft but prickly carbonation, no alcohol heat, and a tingling acidic finish.
Overall, my favorite of the Hill series so far. The chances of running into it again on the off-chance they throw it back into their rotation while I'm visiting again is pretty slim. So that makes me sad. But this was just phenomenal and absolutely does justice to your childhood PB&J with a slight twist of sour which ties in great with the tart strawberry preserves. Other PB&J sours I've had don't even come close. This was just a beautiful beer.
Price paid : $17.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : Hell yes!

Pours a murky dull brown tinted peach color, pretty unique looking not sure I have ever seen this shade on a beer before. Nice fluffy white head from aggressive pour falls slow laces well.
Aroma is lots of peanut butter with light berry notes it's Captain Crunch Berries from you childhood. That's the nose in entirety not tartness or anything just cereal notes.
Taste is malty peanut butter sweetness from the lactose plays though out the whole palate. The strawberries arise in the middle and linger through out the finish with just a touch of tartness. Very smooth great flavor even people who don't like sours may dig it. Personally don't really like peanut butter beers much but tried this on recommendation and must say it's probably the first peanut butter beer I actually like.
Mouthfeel is just smooth leaning to the left of medium.
Overall I like it even though I thought I wouldn't, that being the case it's a must try in my book.
