Very good, I miss the day's of Grist being the go-to local spot for pumping out dark beer and not IPAs and Sours.

16 oz can, dated 12/29/20, into Urban South glass.
Entry #6 into SG Marathon Night.
Caramel brown color with some light piercing through the bottom of the glass. Butter colored head of 3 fingers, leaving lace behind as it gradually recedes.
Maple and ash prominent in the nose, with just a hint of peat. Ash is similar to the Midnight Crisp I just had, even when sniffing from the can. Some spiced cinnamon as well.
Flavor brings the floral yet sweet maple that's characteristic of their Money Moves, but forgoes the peanut butter and stout flavors in favor of a caramel profile. Caramel ball follows, with some slightly acidic sour malt, some crisp dark bread crusts, and floral hop. It doesn't quite land the Scottish profile for me.
Feel is a bit thin for the style, with a bit of starchiness, a mild carbonation, mild heat (great for a hefty 9.3%), and has a bit of creaminess and slickness. Borders on nitro feel.
Overall, it's decent but this is one beer I'm glad I purchased a single of. I'd probably struggle through the other three. Their dark beers are more of a gamble which is why I paid the markup on this baby. This is one SG beer I cannot recommend. The Scottish character is sorely lacking and the maple only provides a fleeting taste. As much as I love SG I gotta rate a beer honestly. For its price point it's simply not worth it. This is on the level of an $8.99 6 pack.
Price paid : $4.99 / can
Would buy again : nope
