16oz can poured into a tulip
A- pours a turbid yellow-brown color with a foamy white one-finger head that disappears completely
S- banana and pineapple lead the way, with an undertone of vanilla wafers and creamy vanilla, reminiscent of a banana pudding. Brown sugar also pops through, with a hint of cinnamon, just a hint of lactic tartness, overall smells like a banana cream pie
T- tropical fruit juice notes up front with equal parts pineapple and banana. Mid-palate gives a milky and creamy vanilla note, as well as a graham cracker flavor with a hint of cinnamon. The finish gives just a hint of acidic tartness with more pineapple and banana on the finish
M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a bit of a viscous, slightly tart finish
O- really enjoyed the cream vanilla and pineapple notes, just enough tartness to up the drinkability

16 oz can, dated 2/2/21, into Urban South Willie.
One of the juiciest, most turbid sours I think I've ever seen. It looks like a damn gorgeous NE IPA. The head is lacking a little but there's so many adjuncts in this beer (cake?) that I don't blame it. A creamy ring sticks around awhile and there is no lacing.
Aroma from the can is straight Hubba Bubba. Wow. Indistinguishable. Wasn't expecting that, but very cool. Aroma from the glass brings bubble gum, coconut, vanilla, some kind of cream cheese icing or something along those lines, and some tropical fruit milkshake notes (pineapple, banana, ice cream, etc).
Flavor is so damn good. It brings banana runts; the peach smash fruity stripes gum; strawberry jell-o cake; vanilla flan; tapioca; then bubble tape, light cinnamon, pineapple, and caramel.
Feel is creamy and smooth. Practically mashed potatoes. Nice soft carbonation. A little nip of heat.
Overall, compared to the Coconut Cream Pie I just had, it's less tart and less sour, with more depth and character, and a hell of a flavor profile. It has the same character as the best SG sours I've had, stamped into my memory while playing video games. I'm not sure how one puts all of this together and executes it so well, but Southern Grist is the king of crazy sours IMO. Nothing else comes close. I love crazy dessert sours and fruited sours but they have to be done right (i.e. still be a sour, and not a sugary pastry mess). SG does them right. Definitely recommend this one.
Price paid : $5.99 / can
