From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid little bitter pours a clear
pale amber with a decent head of white foam that settles to a thin ring,
thin clumping layer, and sports faint lacing. Nose of light caramel, fresh
leafy hops, and faint stone fruit notes. Flavors hit the mark for the
English in me....lightly toasted malts, caramel, subtle peach, and light
faintly bitter hops. Mouth feel is light, subtly effervescent, smooth,
refreshing, and finishing nicely balanced.

Overall, a solid bitter. I will give this one to our friend Keith who is
coming from across the pond from England to see what he thinks, and
considering he drinks bitters often I believe he will approve.

Cheers

I think the beer order person at Aloha Liquors or Pinon had some of this shipped out, not normally in this distro. Can't remember which one I got it from.

Pours an ambery light brown color within style guidelines. 1/3" off white head. The aroma hits a light caramel almost Vienna malt like vibe. Even for an esb, it seemed to lack even a mild hop current here. Dusty.

Taste is somewhere between mild ale and esb. There is a light nutty, leafy, caramel aspect of the beer. Definitely hits the maltier edge of the spectrum and does it without being heavy. I used to crush Red Hook's on the regular back in the 90s, but this doesn't excite me, even while acknowledging its not supposed to be an "exciting" style of beer. Did bring about some old world feels though.

The lack of dating on the can made me suspicious.

Solid like one of those songs that you're not sure about the first time you hear it and then...it clicks....

It grows on you. You can't point it out but something about it makes you look forward to the next time you hear it.

This beer is like that..

Not an earth shatterer....but this is the beer that I would want while I'm eating fish and chips or a meat pie...

Rich deep malts....slightly sweet....tasty...
