16 oz can, canned on 8/11/21, into Prairie Rastal.
Pours a semi-hazy blonde body with a creamy 3 finger head that recedes gradually to a finger leaving lots of wonderful lacing on the sides.
I knew I smelled this somewhere. It reminds me of Pompeii by TG but neglected past its best-by-date (guilty hands raised, anybody?). Essentially imagine a juicy Mosaic-packed IPA but a touch faded. Some grassy lawnmower crispness that takes the place of the normal straight juicy pungency. Wonderful citrus aromas packed with juicy resins and fresh cut grass. Honestly smells like a New England pilsner. Well done.
Flavor is definitely that of a dry hopped pilsner. I get a good amount of Bohemian/Czech influence here, with a fair bit more edge than I'd prefer - the bitterness is moderate to strong. The Mosaic influence here is a bit more cheesy than I'd like, with elements of socks and cheddar, but also with dry prairie grass, juicy tangerine, melon rind, and some bitter pineapple on the finish. It's a well-built beer but tastes like it was brewed with freezer-burnt Mosaic hop pellets.
Edit : the second can invokes notes of strawberries and nectarines with some added pipe bowl and cattiness. The cheesiness is not prominent here nor are the socks. This is a much cleaner can.
Feel is crisp but starchy, kind of a love/hate for me, with minimal to no alcohol heat, heavy carbonation, and a crisp finish.
Overall, this is harsher than their Chesapeake Crisp (that one is just awesome!), but has its place when you're not quite in an IPA mood and a basic lager sounds boring. Very enjoyable.
Edit : 2nd can is massively better. Somehow. Fantastic stuff.
