Canned on (I think?) 2/21/22
Milk stout brewed with lactose, vanilla, cocoa nibs, Barista Parlor coffee, toasted pecans and a hint of sea salt.
Pours with damn near three fingers of super dark cherry cola head. Body is the deepest brown, bordering on black. Foam eventually settles into a clingy ring. Smells real roasty. The coffee stands out up front, but there's something else going on too. Something earthen. Could well be the toasted pecans. Pecans are one nut I've never really been able to appreciate. Yeah, anyway; earthy, roasty coffee on the nose and lots of it. Mouthfeel is just flat out disappointing; a watery, slightly oily mess. Way too thin for an 8.5% stout. There's also a lingering, lip-smacking sweetness. Tastes OK; not as roasty or coffee-forward as the nose implies. It's mostly nutty chocolate with some vanilla for balance. It's fine, I guess, but I'm kind of bummed out by it. Really wanted to like it more.
