This ‘crystale’ arrives in a 500ML package with light, baby blue wax snuggling the cap. A collab with Horus, this is my first swing at Southern Grist. What the hell is a ‘crystale’?
The pour is very dark, maybe or maybe not standard for a crystale, with minimal bubbly. The nose is hard to rope in: a little booze & bourbon, some kind of grain I’m unfamiliar with.
The Heart: Part 5 is prominent for the booze, despite barely clearing 10% in heels. The honey is upfront, soft, uninsistent, followed by a mellow shot of bourbon & that odd legume. Other than the two barrel components, it’s placid, tame, with a minimal graininess. Fairly light & easy to swill.
Based on this solo example, I’d pass on future crystales unless they came in very small servings. Bland & mediocre.
