Surprised at the lower ratings from the typical Canadian crew below! It's a beer that is sort of strange on first sip, but evolves to have a very unique taste after a while. I don't think this drinks like a typical, classical pilsner. Or maybe it's just me. I agree with pmicdee that there is a slight skunky flavour, but not in a 'skunked' or lightstruck way, just one of those kind of skunky/savoury flavors. It is bitter, metallic-esque at first before it evolves to be a lot more crisp and leafy. Grainy and crackery in the middle. Also agree with taxandbeerguy, I don't necessarily get 'milk' but I think that 'thicker' (AKA, the skunky or 'savory' quality I picked up) taste he is getting is something I think every reviewer is picking up on when drinking the beer.

It's definitely unique. Not a super straight up Pils, but its not bad and its unique in it's own way, although not particularly complex. I do take back what I said at the beginning, I get the reviews now that I've had most of my can. Nothing mind blowing, but its really got this kind of cool taste I find myself drawn to, especially on the finish/aftertaste. Kind of weird to have a beer that opens weaker and finishes strong!

473 ml can from the LCBO. Sreved cold into a St. Pauli Girl mug.

Appearance - Fairly hazy golden brew with two fingers of white head. Decent retention, no lacing to speak of and some visible carbonation in the glass.

Smell - Good aromatics; lots of grassy notes and some grain. Hints of lemon and definitely a well hopped brew.

Taste - Clean and crisp grainy qualities. Some leafy hops in support and good assertive bitterness for a pilsner. There a pseudo milk quality into the flavoring to which is a bit unusual.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, crisp carbonation, easy to drink and fairly dry finish.

Overall - A solid pilsner, very well hopped and easy to drink, nothing else stands out really, but this seems more leafy and hop heavy than the crackery goodness of certain other pilsners.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jun 19 2020, listed at 4.7% and served slightly chilled.

Pours clear straw yellow and effervescent, with one finger of soapy, sparkling white head situated atop. It wilts within the next several minutes, coating the glass with an arcing pattern of lace as the level drops; a thin cap and frothy collar also stick around. Clean, straightforward aroma - grainy pale malts, lemon zest, floral hops and a touch of cereal sweetness. So far, so good.

A crisp, well-made pilsner - I'm getting crackery pale malts and graininess at first, followed by more of a bready sweetness. The hops add a grassy, slightly floral dimension nearer the finish, as well as an earthy, herbal bitterness with hints of lemon pith; slightly grainy, earthy aftertaste that lingers. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that contributes to its prickly, palate scrubbing texture; good drinkability, too.

Final Grade: 3.78, a highly respectable B+. Pilsner Elora is a tasty little pale lager that I cannot find many reasons to complain about - its flavours are well-balanced, with a robust noble hoppiness as well as a clean malty forefront. I drink a lot of Czechvar, and this has at least a passing resemblance, which is good enough for me. Worth a try if you enjoy Euro-style lagers and pilseners.

Pours nice into the glass, with a gold colour and a thick head atop. The smell is kind of funky, not completely unpleasant but not mouth watering either. Same goes for the taste, slightly bitter, metallic with a weird aftertaste that lingers long after the sip. Ive had a lot of better pilsners lately
