A highly drinkable Dry Stout brewed with organic, shade grown coffee sourced from Costa Rica. This coffee was hand roasted in our old home town of Manuel Antonio by our friends at Cafe Milagro and paired with fresh organic Tahitian vanilla beans to create the creamy and roasted flavor profile with hints of dark chocolate. Served on Nitro.

The coffee made this. Great nitro coffee and a regular stout base. On tap at Miramar location. Roasty as expected, dry but not too dry so beat expectations.

On cask at taproot. Pitch black, light head. This doesn't feel cashed, too much carbonation so it make me wonder at thw canned version. Smell is great, loads of coffee.taste isn't balanced, all burn coffee, I needed some flaked oats/malt to rou d things out and soften the bitter coffee.

6/29/25 - (Draft - Aces & Ales - Tenaya) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Bar Notes: 16 oz $8.93 with tax and cc fee. 5.3% ABV, Dry Stout on Nitro into a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Near black dark brown base, tan creamy luxurious head lingers for some time, consistent with a Nitro pour. Me likely. 4.25
Aroma: Rich roasted coffee and bakers chocolate, strong and delicious. 4.25
Taste: Consistent with the aroma, chocolate and caramel malt, coffee takes a back seat, lighter roast than the aroma leads. Very nice. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Light and easy drinking. More creamy and a little thicker than a typical nitro pour. Sweet flavors contained with the coffee and whatever hop action is lurking below the surface. Drinks at or a bit below the 5.3% ABV. Sweet, but not overly, nice full caramel, bakers chocolate finish. 4.25
Overall: This is a solid nitro dry Irish stout. Full flavor, thickly creamy, decadent, a great dessert offering, also solid for those looking for a full flavored Nitro pour. Will gladly order with confidence in the future. 4.25

From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 25, 2022
Consumed: March 2, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Feb. 3, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Grabbed two 4-packs of Pure Project and four from North Park. This was the first Pure Project beer I ever had. Ended up having it twice before, giving them a 4 on Untappd, first on Feb. 12, 2017 (“Half pour. Pretty intense.” and then on Nov. 8, 2019 (“This was my first Pure Project beer. Still outstanding.”). Pure’s website called this “A highly drinkable Dry Stout brewed with organic, shade grown coffee sourced from Costa Rica. Poured a pitch-black color with two fingers of khaki-tan frothy head. Pretty calm setting underneath the head. Decent watery lacing. Bad retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled dark coffee, roasty malts, vanilla, bitter dark chocolate, semi-char wood and some lingering spice. Maybe some hazelnut as it went down. Somehow got a touch of dark berry from the can. (Smell -

Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got dark coffee, roasty malts, bitter dark chocolate, vanilla, hints of cinnamon and hazelnut, semi-char wood and lingering spice. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was outstanding overall. Really good. (Overall - 4.00)

An awesome work of art in a glass! Had this at Pure's main taproot, on nitro. Unbelievably creamy, with a very fragrant coffee aroma. The finish is silky smooth, with a hint of vanilla. Taking home a 4-pack, for sure!

Pours deep dark coffee with nice fluffy khaki foamy crown that laces to sides of big low tulip on draught at the BEST micro brewery on the west side. Notes of coffee, coconut and milky chocolate with a hint notes of Marijuana on the nose. Good milky Irish stout.
Follow-up: on draught at Knolls Restaurant in Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach. Pure Project (brewery) stands out from the crowd with their exceptional brew and top coffee procured stout. Pours deep chocolate with big frothy cap in pint on nitro. Tasty malty coffee and dark chocolate infused notes with hints of vanilla make this a really nice coffee stout.
