Double Dust is the bold and juicy imperial version of our core murky IPA, Diamond Dust. Like the original, but mightier, this double IPA is another easy-drinking murk bomb with Mosaic hops from Washington and Cashmere hops from Michigan.

Juicy citrusy hop aroma and flavor with light dankness and a bit of funky hop character. Decent balance with little to no bitterness. Medium bodied and fairly smooth.

Canned 1/4/23.
L: Pours a hazy dark gold with a big white fluffy head with lots of bubbles. Good head retention. Gorgeous splotchy lacing.
S: Aromas of ripe peaches, mango, and papaya.
T: Peaches and mango up front. Some orange and lemon-lime in the middle. Finishes dry but not bitter. Almost zero alcohol heat.
F: Medium mouthfeel. Appropriate carbonation.
O: An excellent stone fruit / tropical / citrus flavor profile. The peach and mango interplay is delightful, while the 8.7 ABV remains hidden. Look and smell are outstanding. It all adds up to a superb NEDIPA.

Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $23 for a 4-pack (split with Sonny)
From: Pure Project Bankers Hill in San Diego, Calif.
Purchased: June 4, 2020
Consumed: June 5, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed this with a host of other beers for an online purchase at Pure Project. I split a 4-pack with Sonny, keeping one for myself and sending another as part of a package to Sam. Online description read, “An imperial version of our fan-favorite Diamond Dust! This easy-drinking Murk bomb features tropical aromas of coconut and guava from Cashmere and Mosaic hops, while flavors of mango and apricot abound.” I only gave the regular Diamond Dust a 3.75 for a taster on Untappd, so I’m hoping this one is a bit better. Still new to Cashmere, although I knew the characteristics going in.
Poured a murky golden color with three fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at a pretty decent pace. Perfect foamy layered lacing. Perfect retention. Such a good looking beer. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled Mosaic, mango rind, guava, pineapple, apricot, peach, stone fruit, lime, lemon, dish soap, mixed berry and grassy notes. Better out of the can with some orange blossom and creamscicle flavors coming in. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose. In order got Mosaic, guava, mango rind, pineapple, apricot, peach, stone fruit, tangerine, orange blossom, lime, lemon, mixed berry, grass, papaya, citrus pulp and lingering spice on the lips. That 8.7 pct. ABV is well-hidden. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. Still some hop burn here. (Feel - 4.00)
An excellent beer overall. Glad I got to have a can. (Overall - 4.25)

Impressed with this one! It has a subdued tropical hoppy nose and aromatics...it didn't jump out at me. The taste, though, follows well with a very soft and smooth hoppy low bitter finish.
It hides the 8.7% ABV very well.
