Collab with Slice Beer Company.
A bright and juicy Murky Triple IPA made in collaboration with our friends Slice Beer Co from Sacramento CA. Mosaic hops dominate the brew with the addition of Riwaka and Wai-Iti from New Zealand, showcasing flavors and aromas of blueberry, yuzu, and lime with a hint of raw coconut and resin.

Had Sonny pick me up a 4-pack of this. I somehow missed this one on social media, but it is a collab with Slice (my first Slice beer I think). Would’ve rather got two of each (two of these and two of the other release), but I didn’t have a partner for it. Pure Project’s Facebook description called it, “A bright and juicy Murky Triple IPA made in collaboration with our friends Slice Beer Co from Sacramento CA. Mosaic hops dominate the brew with the addition of Riwaka and Wai-Iti from New Zealand, showcasing flavors and aromas of blueberry, yuzu, and lime with a hint of raw coconut and resin.” Damn that sounds good, even though I’m still new to Riwaka and Wai-Iti. Looking up the hop description, it looks like Riwaka’s characteristics are grapefruit and kumquat, while Wai-Iti is citrus and stone fruit.
Poured a golden-to-medium yellow murky color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up around the top of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Mosaic, rose blossom, floral, bubblegum, blueberry, candied fruit (maybe kumquat? I don’t think I’ve had one), stone fruit, nectarine, peach and mixed berry. Not quite as good from the can, but still solid. (Smell - 4.50)
Tasted pretty damn good. Not sure as good as the nose, but damn close. One more damn for good measure. Was getting all that 10.5 pct. Got Mosaic, blueberry, bubblegum, rose blossom, floral, sugary candied unknown fruit (kumquat?), nectarine, peach, stone fruit, mixed berry, lingering peppery spice that I could feel in my nose, dank resin, pine, red grapefruit and melon. Looking at the descriptions of the other two hops, I’d say Riwaka with a slight advantage over Wai-Iti. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
May have slightly underrated this overall, but it was excellent. Probably a step down from Trips On Dubs and Mountains Are Calling, but in the same ballpark. (Overall - 4.25)
