Let the islands come to you with our new tiki-inspired creation. This murky triple IPA is loaded with organic Sri Lankan coconut as well Sabro, Sabro Cryo, Motueka, and Cashmere Hops. The result is a murky golden and smooth sipping brew with tropical notes of coconut, pineapple and mango…the kind of beer you’d savor on your own private island.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (fire) glass
Price: $5.63 (10 pct. off $25 4-pack with AHA card)
From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 13, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 21, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 6, 2022; Split 4-pack (2/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/4)
Picked up a 4-pack of this and another 4-pack on their release day. For some reason didn’t know that I had this before, twice giving this a 4.25. On May 16 I wrote about a taster “Damn. Better than excellent. Probably in 4.37 range.” Then “Had to get a full pour. Such a good beer. Damn.” Pure Project’s website regarding the release called it “Let the islands come to you with our new tiki-inspired creation. Poured a light golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of fast moving bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass at many different points. Almost perfect foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled coconut, Sabro, mint, cedar, Motueka, pineapple, lime, lemon, caramel and butterscotch. Grew on me each whiff. Just as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted coconut, lime, pineapple, Sabro, mint, lemon, pine, dish soap, Motueka, cedar, caramel, hints of butterscotch and buttered popcorn. Doesn’t taste quite like 10.2 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Just a really great beer. Glad I grabbed a couple cans of this. (Overall - 4.25)
