Presenting Petrified, our brand new murky double IPA. It features Nectaron, a proprietary hop from New Zealand that we are featuring for the first time. Along with Nectaron, we added a couple other favorite south island-hops—Nelson Sauvin and Motueka—which collectively produce fresh scents of pineapple, juicy pear, candied mango, and kiwi. Expect flavors of sweet citrus, peach, and honeydew to linger on the tongue amidst a medium-full body. A sip of this brew and you might say as the Kiwis do…sweet as!

Copenhagen 18/2 2024. 47,3 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Close up of a stone wall with Pure Project's logo in silver.
Pours opaque hazy yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as rhin, almost transparent layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sies of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, slightly fermented odor of ripe tropical fruits mingling with sharp citrus fruit. Mango and peach. Whiff of decay and alcohol. Grapefruit and citrus.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, a bit creamy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is tense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a subtle touch of alcohol. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.
A fermented and citric powerhouse.

Went over to Pure Project for this beer and another, splitting 4-packs with Sonny and Kevin. Pure’s website described this one as “Presenting Petrified, our brand new murky double IPA. Poured a light golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see a few different bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled that Nectaron right away. Also nectarine, peach, orange juice, stone fruit, pineapple, tangerine, passion fruit, lighter Nelson, gooseberry, pear and some mango. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted just as good as the nose. In order got Nectaron, nectarine, peach, stone fruit, orange juice, pineapple, guava, tangerine, passion fruit, lighter Nelson, mixed berry, pear, mango and lemon zest. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Another hazy banger from Pure Project. Really liked this one. Excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
