Powerful Beyond Measure is a quad IPA that pushes the limits of hop expression with a tropical assortment of Strata, Motueka, Mosaic, and Cashmere hops. Cloudy golden in appearance, it is a bold brew that bursts with flavors of sweet orange, mango and papaya. But beware, this powerful quad is deceptively smooth for its lofty ABV.

Once I saw this one I knew I had to have it and I bought it at 9 a.m. when it became available online (it ended up selling out pretty quickly). Email description for this was “Powerful Beyond Measure is a quad IPA that pushes the limits of hop expression with a tropical assortment of Strata, Motueka, Mosaic, and Cashmere hops. Poured a medium yellow hazy color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Strata, dish soap, lime, lemon, Motueka, coconut, caramel candy squares, papaya, mango, herbal, melon, Mosaic, stone fruit and peach skin. Got better each whiff. Almost as good out of the can too. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted about as good as the nose. First thing I thought was that it reminded me slightly of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. Seemed more barleywineish than TIPA. Motueka stood out, followed by caramel candy squares, coconut, Strata, herbal, peach skin, stone fruit, Mosaic, papaya, mango, melon, lime, lemon and light Cashmere. Even though I compared it to 120 Minute IPA, still was pretty smooth for 13 pct. ABV. Grew on me as it went down. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)

This one grew on me. It was excellent overall. (Overall - 4.25)
