A brand new murky double IPA has taken root here at Pure. Dry hopped with Strata and Cashmere, this beer exudes aromas of pineapple sorbet and tangelos that give way to flavors of freshly squeezed grapefruit and kiwi. This juicy beauty stands alone in a myriad of murkies.

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (air) glass
Price: $5.18 (10 pct. off $23 4-pack with AHA card)
From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 13, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 27, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 6, 2022; Split 4-pack (2/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/4)
Picked up a 4-pack of this and another 4-pack on their release day. Their website called it “A brand new murky double IPA has taken root here at Pure. Poured a medium golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect uneven foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Strata jumped out on the nose. Also pineapple sorbet, grapefruit, peach, apricot, Cashmere, herbal, menthol and lemon. Almost as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Strata, strawberry, pineapple sorbet, peach, apricot, grapefruit, Cashmere, herbal, menthol and lemon. Fairly smooth for 8.3 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
I definitely underrated this overall, but outstanding at least. (Overall - 4.00)
