Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $26 for a 4-pack
From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: June 3, 2021
Consumed: June 12, 2021
Misc.: Collaboration with Electric Brewing Company; No canned on date; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Picked up a 4-pack of this to split with Sonny. I’ve really enjoyed practically every hazy quad IPA from Pure Project and was excited for a collab with Electric Brewing Company. Pure Project’s email called this “Together with Electric Brewing we venture into new territories with our latest murky quad IPA collaboration. Poured a medium-yellow-to-light-golden murky color with three fingers of frothy white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smell initially wasn’t that appealing, at least a bit disappointing. Got Motueka jumped out for the mentioned hops with Galaxy a close second, followed by Citra and El Dorado. Also papaya, melon, grapefruit zest, pineapple, guava, mango, passion fruit, spoiled fruit and pine. Better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted much better than the nose. Motueka still stood out, followed by Galaxy, papaya, melon, caramel candy squares, Citra, grapefruit zest, pineapple, guava, mango, passion fruit, El Dorado, cantaloupe, pine and lingering peppery spice. Pretty smooth for 13 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, chewy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
An outstanding beer but not as good as the Untappd ratings (4.45) have it. Glad I got to try it though. (Overall - 4.00)
