Float downstream with our thirst-quenching cold IPA in hand. This second batch of Cool River features all Pacific Northwest hops—Idaho 7, Citra, and Citra Cryo—over a crisp, clean base of Pure Idaho Pilsner malt. Fermented cold, this summertime favorite is light-bodied and clean like a lager but with the aromatics and bitterness of a West Coast IPA. Flavors of pine, resin, and orange peel abound. Treat your taste buds with this refreshing accompaniment on your next adventure.

Copenhagen 11/2 2024. 47,3 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Dark green can with light green and blue spheres floating about and the brewery's logo in gold in the center.
Pours slightly unclear pale yellow with a mid-zed white head. Stable. Settles as thin but unbroken layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor of stone fruit mingling with a subtle citric scent. Ripe peach, mango and pineapple. Overripe fermentation. Grapefruit and lemon. Resin.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor Is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Fine potent Indian Pale Ale.

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (air) glass
Price: $22.00 for a 4-pack
From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received June 2, 2022
Consumed: June 18, 2022
Misc.: Canned on May 25, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (2/4) and Kevin (1/4)
Got a can of this from Sonny. Pure Project’s website description was “Float downstream with our newest cold IPA in hand. Cool River features Pacific Northwest hops—Citra, Idaho 7, and Idaho 7 Cryo—over a crisp, clean base of Rahr North Star Pils malt. Fermented cold, this brew is light-bodied and clean like a lager but with the aromatics and bitterness of a West Coast IPA. Flavors of pine, resin, grapefruit, and nectarine abound. Treat your taste buds with this refreshing accompaniment on your next river adventure.”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled grapefruit, pineapple, pine, Idaho 7, Citra, lime, nectarine, peach tea, herbal, grass, caramel and lingering peppery resin. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose. Got dank pine, resin, black pepper, bitter grapefruit peel, pineapple, lime, grass, Idaho 7, herbal, nectarine, peach tea, Citra and aspirin. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Got to say, this was much better than I thought it would be. Maybe these Cold IPAs can be good. (Overall - 4.25)
